Most places fall is a nice time of the year. Both on the coast and mountains, it is a special time of year that is very easy to enjoy.
Yesterday morning I was out in the river before 7:30 AM. On a quiet morning the the river, especially the White Oak, near Emerald Isle, NC, is a wonderful place to be.
Between the cool air, a fresh breeze, blue skies, and blue waters, it is easy to become folded into a world of blue coolness.
Fall on the east coast is pretty special with cool mornings and warm afternoons, you cannot ask for much more other than cool nights for sleeping. Mostly those are standard fare also.
From my launch point in Bluewater Cove it takes less than five minutes to get to where I snapped this post picture which looks towards Swansboro.
North Carolina's Crystal Coast or Southern Outer Banks as we like to call it is a place where sometimes the blue skies and blue waters conspire against anyone who wants to think serious thoughts.
It is hard to be worried about issues of the day when the serenity of the world around you is so powerful.
If the water and blue skies do not fix what ails you, you can ratchet up the treatment a notch by taking a walk on the beach.
When fall on the coast has mellowed you out, you can head for the mountains and wait for the leaves to start changing.
Like I said fall is a neat time of the year. Even in our modern world, it is a good time to take a break.
