I have eaten a lot of burgers since then including some fine bacon cheeseburgers by Andy's a small regional chain in southeast North Carolina.
I still think that Burger in the Square has one of the best burgers in the business so I was really pleased to see their new location on Brambleton Avenue across from Kroger and less than fifteen minutes from our home.
On recent trip to the coast, we grabbed lunch at Burger in the Square on Brambleton as we were leaving town. I wanted my wife's opinion since in truth it is easy for me to fall in love with a great burger.
She is also a fan of the Andy's burger. As she took her first bite of the Burger in the Square cheeseburger, I anxiously awaited her reaction.
Her comment surprised me, she said the burger tasted homemade which is a fine compliment.
I really enjoyed mine, but the waffle fries could have cooked another minute or so. However, they were slammed even though it was 2 PM in the afternoon so I will forgive that small sin.
My only worry is that the Brambleton location might not be big enough for them.
I also managed to enjoy the Pit Boss Barbecue at their new location earlier in the week, but I will have more on that in another post.
It is good to see independent eateries surviving and even thriving in Roanoke.
