I think that warmer than normal January weather that has let us see some sixties along the coast is about to disappear.
It looks like Saturday will once again be a nice warm day, but I think it is downhill from there everywhere on the east coast.
Roanoke looks like it will have trouble getting out of the thirties later in the week. That could mean some frozen precipitation eventually.
I was hoping that we had winter almost beaten.
Unfortunately that is not the case. When you get cooler weather, you just have figure out how to make lemonade out of it.
We often do that by chasing winter sunsets. We caught a very nice sunset up on the White Oak River on Deepwater Drive near Stella, NC.
It was also nice to see a beautiful green field of winter wheat. I posted a picture of that and the sunset to my Picasa Web Albums site.
We have had some variable but nice weather. I am not looking forward to cold weather. I think it is time for fishing weather and for planting tomato seeds.
At least winter has our local restaurants working hard to please us with new treats and menus. I am looking forward to seeing if the winter has brought any excitement to the local eateries in Roanoke next week.
