I like to think we all have our special places, the spots that mean something to us.
I might be a little more visually oriented than some folks, but I suspect there are few among us who do not respond to a beautiful scene.
For me when the pressures build up, I seek water. There is something about looking at water that really soothes my soul. If the sun is setting or rising, it is even better.
As a real estate agent I probably spend more time than most people seeking out certain views. I also get to see some really neat ones. There's nothing like being in a huge sand castle home on the ocean front and enjoying the view of the water from the third floor.
But when I have a choice, I want the vista that means the most to me. Over the years, there has always been a scene that was my refuge. There were several in Nova Scotia. I have a whole website of images from Roanoke and multiple sites including Flickr and Picasa that handle the images from the coast.
The photo at the beginning of the post is my current favorite. It is from our dock and shows the water which leads to the White Oak River, a spot that seems to be one that a number of people enjoy.
Lately I have sharing some of my images with WITN TV in Greenville which likes to publish local photos on their weather forecasts.
I am getting used to folks saying that they have seen my photos on TV or heard my name. Maybe it is my five minutes of fame.
Last night someone told me that they had seen my latest one which is the picture to the right.
It was one out of a batch of photos which were so good that I really had a hard time picking which one to send.
Sharing my photos actually is something that I really enjoy. I recently got a request from someone in Japan who wanted to use a photo of the sun rising through clouds which rendered the city of Roanoke invisible. I was happy to say yes, so there are six hundreds cards of a hidden Roanoke being sent as Japanese Christmas cards.
Over the next few days as people travel to their homes and enjoy some old scenes that bring back memories or find some new vistas that help great some new memories, I hope people find some peace in this world of ours that is increasingly wired to keep us on a treadmill twenty four hours a day.
Finding a beautiful scene and taking the time to enjoy it and perhaps share it is one of the great pleasures of my life.
I live in Cleveland Tennessee. We have beautiful mountains and lots of waterfalls. I wondered if you would like for me to share my pictures. We have the Ocoee River where the water sports events were held during the 1996 Olympics.

I went to high school in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and I can remember the area around Cleveland.
You are welcome to put link in your comments or if you have some a Flickr or Picasa Web Albums site, I'll be glad to link to it.
If you have a special photo, I will try to work it into one of my posts.
