The Cameron-Langston Bridge serves as a connection from Emerald Isle, NC to the mainland areas of Cape Carteret and Cedar Point.
Vacations that people from the Roanoke area have taken on Emerald Isle are one of the secrets of the Roanoke area.
The stickers with "EI" are much less common than the "OBX" stickers. Still I have found that there are a number of Roanoke and Blacksburg area residents who have enjoyed the pleasures of the Crystal Coast.
In fact my last trip down to Oak Grove, I snapped this shot of a white Miata with an "EI" sticker in the back.
I have discovered many more people just from mentioning in conversations that we are enjoying the Emerald Isle area.
Speaking of enjoying things, I managed to go for a swim this morning before going to work. Of course being a RealtorĀ® on the coast, I can take advantage of shorts being part of the uniform.
I can also go for that walk on the beach whenever the fancy strikes me in the evening. That does not mean, that I am not working hard. In fact my wife says that I am working harder than ever.
But I have reordered my priorities a little to enjoy the water, the surf, and the sand as opposed to enduring the land of the suits.
Anyone looking for a house in the same neighborhood, just check this Bluewater Cove home out. It has pond behind it, the pool and boat ramp are just down the street, and you'll have me as a neighbor.
Those EI beaches are only 6 miles are so away which is a lot closer than six hours.
If doesn't work, we have plenty of sand castles available for rent.
