I consider myself blessed in that I can frame a scene nicely and capture it with a camera. Often I can crop the picture a little and sometimes adjust the colors that I get from the camera to match what I have seen with my eyes.
That's all it usually takes to produce some very nice images. My photography provides inspiration for my writing.
With the help of a good digital camera and some tools on my computers, I the images I produce add a nice visual element to my blogs and to the walls where some end up hanging. I have spent time over the years to keep my blogs visually appealing.
Working with colors and trying to make things look nice isn't something that is second nature to me. I long ago learned that whenever my wife, Glenda, does some redecorating, I usually limit my input on colors to "Yes dear."
I am actually in awe of people with real artistic talent. One of my friends is one of those people. Mary Warshaw of Beaufort, NC, is an extremely talented artist. She is also the author of the Beaufort, NC-The Town and Why It's Unique. It is a visually stunning blog which reflects her artistic talent.
To really appreciate Mary's talent, you have to check out her artwork like the "I’m Home—Beaufort Waterfront and the Meka II" print which shows her personal view of the Beaufort, NC waterfront. I think what Mary has painted is stunning.
One thing that Mary and I really agree on is that Beaufort is a wonderful place. Glenda and I first visited Beaufort for our thirtieth anniversary in 2003. We had a wonderful time and stayed at the Cedars by the Sea Bed and Breakfast and had our anniversary dinner at Blue Moon Bistro. While the Cedars is no longer in business, there are some great places to stay in Beaufort.
We loved the area so much that we visited several more times and eventually ended up with a second home about thirty five minutes from Beaufort.
If you're looking for a place to take someone for a special occasion where you can park the car, walk to great restaurants, enjoy boat rides, walk along the water and be surrounded by a beautiful historical district, Beaufort, NC is a great choice.
Beaufort is about a six hour drive from Roanoke, Va, where we love to enjoy the Virginia mountains. I have a Beaufort Travel Guide post though it now needs some updating since a few of the restaurants have changed.
You won't regret visiting Beaufort, it's a magical place with some great small shops for the ladies and fantastic fishing for the guys.
There are links to pictures and information about the area at my Crystal Coast Links site and my Crystal Coast Life site.
I like your new look. Thanks for the reveiw on Beufort. I didn't know there was one in both Carolinas. Maybe we'll visit sometime soon.

Thanks for the feedback. Though there is a "Beaufort" both in North Carolina and South Carolina, they are pronounced differently.
You can hear the NC Beaufort pronounced at:

The South Carolina version is much different.
