You should try the Soda Shop in downtown Davidson on Main St off I-77 exit 30. Built in the 50's and burnt down and rebuilt.Tiny and crowded. Great chargrilled burgers and round cottage fries. Chicken Quesedilla and caeser salad is great. Open around 8-8 M-Sun

Keatons BBQ-Woodleaf Rd. Rowan County/Edge of Iredell County off Hwy 64 toward Salisbury. Open Wed-Sat 11-2, 5-8
Quarters of fried chicken breast in special sauce. Potato salad, baked potato, red and white slaw, baked mac and cheese, hamburger buns as rolls.

JRs/Newtowne shopping center I-77 exit 50 Statesville
Open around 11-3, 5-9 M-Fri Steak, sandwiches, salads, wings. Alpine chalet style eclectic architecture in a strip mall. Its been around for more than 10 years.

These sound like great spots to try. I'm down in the area some over the next few weeks, so I'll make sure I stop by for a few meals.

We've actually eaten in a few places in the area. Most recently we had a lunch at Lupie's in Huntersville. It wasn't quite as good as the time I wrote it up, but it was still good.
