The Roanoke Times had an article about the high costs of text books yesterday. I found the article, "Text message: $$$," by Lisa Roberts on line.
Why are college textbooks so expensive? At the end of the course, after points and counterpoints made by students, professors and book publishers, there will be a quiz -- for which there are no definitive answers. What there is sure to be, though, is a lot of fingerpointing.
I guess it's a good thing Roberts says upfront that there are no definitive answers because she sure doesn't supply anything resembling an answer. After reading the article all I could say is why bother writing an article which can't even get close to answer?
