Sleet Storm

We've had a nice quiet day on the mountain.  The sleet came early, but no so early as to prevent the newspaper from getting through.

Sometime in early afternoon, the precipitation started mixing with freezing rain.  This picture to the right was taken in early afternoon around two pm.

We appear to have a couple of inches of sleet covering the ice that never disappeared from the last storm.

Given that the most interesting part of a sleet storm is the sound effects, I posted a Quicktime movie of the sleet storm on my dot Mac site.  Here's the link to the short sleet movie complete with sound effects.  You can readily hear the sleet hitting our ice covered holly bushes in the front of the house.
