You can have your California weather. The weather we've been having here in Virginia is just about perfect. It's changing today, but it is the tenth of November.
Last night we enjoyed a glass of wine out on our deck. The temperature was still over seventy degrees when we came in just before nine pm.
It just doesn't get much better than that. We had gone out earlier to run a few errands, and I just couldn't believe how mild it was. In fact maybe we're starting to turn into the next California. We have lots of wineries and a Technology Corridor.
Aside from that, recently there has been little humidity, and our soil is very dry. I actually had to water part of my yard yesterday. The new grass that I had over seeded was starting to be stressed by the dry conditions.
The weather had changed this morning, the temperature was down to 48 degrees Fahrenheit with a strong wind. It was enough of a change that the cat went out the door, stopped about two feet from the door and turned around. He came back to the door and asked to come inside. For a while it looked to be litter box weather again. Then the cat screwed up his courage and went back out. This time he managed to stay for ten or fifteen minutes.
Anyway, I'll take our distinct seasons with glorious fall colors and beautiful spring blooms over California's climate any month of the year. What's life without a good snow storm or two each year? Then there are those California traffic jams which are just no match for Roanoke's twice daily ten to fifteen minutes of traffic.
