Why not trying a Hackintosh? ;-)

I am no longer that enthralled with the Mac OS. What keeps me using a Mac (besides a job that requires Macs) are a few apps that I like, Pixelmator, Rapidweaver, Nisus Writer, and handful of others. More storage and memory will allow me to move all my photos to Windows. Picasa pretty well works the same on both operating systems. The Mac Mini will likely be fine for lighter duty work. I use VMWare on it now and with an extra computer, I probably won't need to use VMWare on the Mac. I do plan to write about the transition and how it goes. I got a private comment from an Apple employee about my potential purchase of a Lenovo for $1,049. He said "You will never get that config at that price in a Mac. We might charge that for the RAM." I thought that was appropriate and close to right.

Those who think OSX is doing so well in the desktop OS arena should have a look at these two charts. Worldwide all versions of OS X come in at 7.05%.
