Snow on the mountain

SnowsmallI knew when we had snow showers on Tuesday, that the weather was just practicing.

Weather is tricky like that.  You have some snow showers to cool down the roads so the snow will stick.

Well I am happy to report that this isn't a live report.  This afternoon I was enjoying temperatures of 62 degrees Fahrenheit.

We got an inch and one quarter of rain on the coast.  I guess the good news is that Roanoke did not get socked with that much moisture.

The precipitation totals seemed to drop rapidly inland.

The scary thing about winter is that it seems to be persistent this year.  The forecast is for us to have some snow flurries on the coast this weekend.

I am hoping that is just snow envy on the part of our coastal weathermen who showed a picture of snowy Roanoke on the late night weather.

It is a good time to visit the coast.  Single digit wind chills are not a lot of fun.

We just had a nice batch of local wild shrimp for dinner so there are even more benefits besides the thirty degree temperature differential.
