I don't know how long it will last, but we now have some cool weather even down on the coast.
This morning the temperature was fifty degrees Fahrenheit. That is substantially cooler than the upper eighties that we saw all week.
The water temperature has even dropped seven degrees in the last two days.
We are supposed to back to eighty by the middle of the week.
On the coast we have to look hard for fall colors. Our poison ivy provides some of the brightest colors similar to what Virginia creeper looks like on the mountain.
I posted a number of photos I took last evening on a hike we took in Cedar Point in the Croatan National Forest.
This is the best time of the year for hiking in the south.
