A couple of weeks ago, we were sufferring from a very dry September where we got almost no rain. All it took was a few days and nearly six inches of rain and the yards are now looking very spring like.
The weather is definitely changing. We're likely to see some cool temperatures this weekend which hopefully will give us a chance at some beautiful leaves this fall.
With the predicted sunshine this weekend, we hope to get our fall mulching done, the tomato plants pulled out, some brushed cut, and even install some weather stripping on the doors so our heating bills can be held to astronomical.
I'm guessing that I have five or six more times that I wll need to mow the yard. When I mowed today, I noticed that some of the grass seed that I put down last week has sprouted. Growing a lawn in Virginia is one of the easiest things you can do.
I haven't had time to get out of town this week, but I hope all these rains have helped the farmers' pastures as much as they helped our yards.
