We were scheduled to have a snow storm this weekend. It was to be a big one by southwest Virginia standards, six to nine inches. We were ready for one. In fact both my wife and I were looking forward to the special feeling that comes with a good snow storm.
Unfortunately we did not get our storm, as so often is the case, some warm air sneaked in overhead. Our snow turned to sleet and with a little freezing rain thrown in just for fun.
Though a snowstorm often brings misery to the south, when we lived in Canada for so many years, a good snow storm was a welcome chance to stop the daily routine and feel protected by the elements.
