My Macs are working perfectly, thanks Apple
Actually it is a good day to say thanks to Apple. All the family Macs are working well, with no real problems to keep us from enjoying the holidays.
I am not going through any upgrade pain for which I am also thankful. I learned a few lessons from Panther that kept me from jumping into the early Leopard waters.
I just took a quick trip through the reader discussions of Leopard on Macintouch. It is pretty well the same things that you come to expect when you do any operating system upgrade, printers and other drivers are usually the biggest problems. They should be cleared up shortly.
What amazes me is how many unique problems an operating system upgrade can cause. When you think of the huge number of combinations of hardware and software that are out there, I guess it is not too surprising.
This is probably the first time since I started using a Macintosh in 1984 that I haven't upgraded to the latest and greatest as soon as it was available.
I sort of started on this trail during the last upgrade when I left my wife's machine at 10.3.9. As far as I can tell, it has continued to do well.
It is easy to get into the mindset that you need the latest and greatest as companies announce the products.
The harder path is making the most out of what you have. Until I see an application that moves me forward, I'm going to try to resist operating system taxes.
I feel fortunate to have more than one functional Mac, lots of great software, and a couple of Windows machines to keep my perspective of the Mac world honest.
For all that and the many readers who have dropped by this year, I say thanks.
Happy Thanksgiving both from the mountains of Virginia and the coast of North Carolina where the temperatures approached eighty degrees on Monday and the summer seems to be endless this year.
Will I actually be able to pull a ripe tomato off one of our vines in December?
Here's a neat coastal picture and a link to a survey, CIOs Rate the Leading Tech Providers, which might inspire me to write a post especially considering this Canadian article, Mac shows off its business side.
I agree completely with your commentary. I too am a 100 dayer who has refrained from switching my PPC machines to Leopard. Tiger, v 10.4.11, works without a hiccup and monitoring the chatter about problems other folks are having with Leopard has dissuaded me from upgrading – at least until the volume of trouble reports diminish.

Upgraded to Leopard the first day it came out. Very happy with the features and stability ... so much so I'm hesitant to install 10.5.1! :)
